The Field Service Technician I is an entry-level, heavy-travel role responsible for supporting the installation, maintenance, and field repair of specialized fiberglass-reinforced pipe (GRP) systems on municipal and industrial job sites. Reporting to the Field Service Operations Manager, this role combines hands-on mechanical execution, technical site support, and cross-departmental shop training. Technicians work directly alongside experienced leads, civil engineers, and site contractors to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
- Travel 70%–90% to project sites across North America to execute field service assignments, pipe repairs, and installation support.
- Perform field repairs and inspections in restricted and confined spaces (including 30-inch direct-bury pipelines) following strict OSHA guidelines.
- Complete foundational cross-training in the Houston fitting shop to master pipe reconfiguration, assembly, and secondary workflows.
- Interpret detailed project blueprints, scope documents, and technical specifications prior to executing site work.
- Coordinate and book travel accommodations, transportation, and material logistics required for field operations.
- Record service notes, job site photos, task completion statuses, and billing documentation in Salesforce in a timely manner.
- Maintain professional, clear communication with field leads, client engineers, and site contractors.
