A plastics manufacturing and assembly plant in Canton, NC that builds components for heavy-duty commercial trucks is hiring a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer. This is a floor job, not a desk job: operations is your customer, and you are the engineer they call when a line needs help.

You will support two main areas: a high-volume assembly line with robots, torque tools, inspection and leak test equipment, and a plastics joining area that uses ultrasonic welding, vibration welding, epoxy and mechanical fasteners. Maintenance technicians handle the repairs. Your job is to find the root cause, drive the fix and make the process safer, easier and more efficient. Training is provided on CNC router programming and plastics welding.

What You'll Do:

• Provide daily engineering support to assembly operations
• Troubleshoot equipment and processes and lead root cause analysis and corrective action
• Prevent repeat production, quality and equipment issues
• Improve workstation ergonomics and safety for operators
• Analyze process flow and drive cost and efficiency improvements
• Develop cost-effective, robust production processes on new and existing lines

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or Navy nuclear Machinist's Mate training and experience
• Experience with manufacturing and assembly processes
• Strong technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
• Comfortable working on the production floor alongside operators and maintenance
• Authorized to work in the US (no visa sponsorship)
